“Corporate Leaders in Philanthropy 2009” - Monday, June 28, 2010

SPIBA supports the initiative of Vedomosti business newspaper, in association with PricewaterhouseCoopers and the Donors Forum nonprofit partnership of grantmaking organisations, in conducting the third annual survey of corporate philanthropic programmes in Russia. This year, the project is going under the name “Corporate Leaders in Philanthropy 2009”. It is a sequel to Vedomosti and PwC’s corporate philanthropy survey and the Donor Forum’s “Russian Corporate Donor” competition.

The survey is designed to study corporate charitable programmes in 2009, to analyse best practices in corporate philanthropy, and to attract public, government and media attention to this aspect of Russian business.

We would like to invite all interested companies to take part in the survey, as we acknowledge your company’s contribution to the development of a culture of giving in Russia. Please fill in the questionnaire and mail it to the Project Organization Committee by 20 August 2010. You can find all the survey materials on Vedomosti’s website at www.vedomosti.ru/rankings2009, or on the Donors Forum website at www.donorsforum.ru.

SPIBA, represented by Executive Director Lyudmila Murgulets, participated in the seminar of international cooperation program "KOKO-Russia". KOKO-Russia is a finnish state program aimed at the development of russian-finnish business partnership. The seminar was held by Russian organizations involved in creation of a partneship network for finnish development companies. Apart from SPIBA the seminar was attended by representatives of the Committees on Foreign Relations, Informatization and Economic Development of St. Petersburg, LOTPP and the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce, St. Petersburg Funds of Industry Support and Business Development and Finnish organization JYKES, VASEK, Naturpolis, SEKES, SEEK, Imatran Seudun involved in the development of business relations between Russia and Finland.

Industrial council of St.-Petersburg - Thursday, June 10, 2010

On June, 10th Lyudmila Murgulets took part in a session of Industrial council of St.-Petersburg. As Valentina Matvienko, governor of St. Petersburg, said, the economic growth has been noted in the city. Industrial output has practically come back to pre-crisis level. Participants discussed the following questions:
1. Rational use of energy resources, development of energy saving program. The chairman of committee on power Trishkin O.G. has told about what was done in this area, and what are the further action plan.
2. Manufacture of autocomponents, localisation. The President of St. Petersburg Association of Manufacturers of automotive components (SPbAPAK) Kiselevich V.P.said that the demand on cars has grown on 30 % in comparison with last year, the market is growing. There are plans to create a new technopark for manufacturers of autocomponents in Kamenka. 8 enterprises will be placed there.

On June 9, 2010 the meeting with representatives of the customs administration Mikhail Gorelkin, Chief Inspector, Department of customs procedures and control and Anna Ershova, Chief Inspector, Department of coordination and implementation of risk management systems, took place. HR Committee meeting with Labour Inspectorate - Wednesday, May 26, 2010

SPIBA’s HR Committee has organized a meeting with leaders of the State Labour Inspectorate: Ayshat Adzheniazova, Chief State Labour Inspector of legal affairs, Olga Litsukova, State Labour Inspector of legal affairs. Participants got acquainted with Labor inspectorate structure, its activity and latest initiatives.

Business Tour to Yanino - Wednesday, May 19, 2010

Environment, Health and Safety Committee have organized a business tour to State Unitary Enterprise "Plant for the mechanized processing of household waste"/Factory MPBO-II". During excursion participants got knowledge of enterprise activity, after that working group session has been held.

HR Committee Co-chairpersons election - Thursday, April 29, 2010

At its next regular meeting the SPIBA HR Committee will be holding early elections for committee co-chairpersons. As a result of these elections, the number of co-chairpersons will increase to three.
At the moment the committee’s only co-chairperson is Darya Khilova, BAT, who was elected to her current position at the beginning of 2009 for a term of two years.
Candidates can nominate themselves or be nominated by other members. Please send your candidate profile, including your ideas for developing and improving the HR Committee’s activities, or tell us the name and contact number of a SPIBA member you would like to nominate.
The deadline for submitting candidate profiles is 21 April 2010. Members can vote via e-mail office@spiba.ru or at the HR Committee meeting on 29 April 2010. If you have any questions, please contact the current committee chairperson Daria Hilova or the SPIBA office.

Reforms of Northwest customs office - Thursday, April 08, 2010

As a result of reforms within the Northwest customs office, five customs posts now working within the city boundaries will be closed - Shusharsky, Southern, Krasnoselsky, Southwest and Gatchina.

On April, 2nd the governor of Petersburg, Valentina Matvienko, personally held a meeting with the head of the Northwest customs office, Nazipom Galikeevym, and the Chairman of the committee on transport-transit policy, Nikolay Asaulom.
