SPIBA: THE VOICE OF BUSINESS
The St. Petersburg International Business Association for North-Western Russia (SPIBA) is an international, non-profit, independent organization which unites foreign and Russian companies that share SPIBA's mission and principles.
SPIBA mission:
- Facilitate the improvement of the business climate in north-western Russia.
- Promote social responsibility in business.
SPIBA functions:
- The voice of business
SPIBA cooperates closely with local policy making institutions and the media to promote the opinions and common interests of its members on the investment climate in Russia.
- A forum for dialogue
SPIBA develops a dialogue between the Russian authorities and the business community, which is aimed at creating favorable conditions for the development and operation of private companies.
SPIBA provides its members with opportunities to share experiences, information, and to develop business contacts.
Activities:
- SPIBA committees
Are responsible for the specific interests of investors in the region and provide SPIBA members with a platform to share their views, ideas, experiences, and concerns. Committees: The Executive Committee, Legislation & Lobbying Committee, HR Committee, Marketing Committee, Environment, Health, and Safety Committee, and several ad hock working groups.
- SPIBA events
Facilitate the dialogue between the Russian authorities and the business community and provide a networking platform for the exchange of views, ideas, and opportunities for establishing business contacts. Events: general meetings, round tables, seminars, briefings, networking events, site visits, and business trips to other regions of north-western Russia and neighboring countries.

Since it was established in 1995, SPIBA has become a respected partner for the international business community in north-western Russia.
Today the association consists of around 120 members including; 85 commercial organizations, 19 diplomatic and trade missions, and 14 nonprofit organizations operating in St. Petersburg, the Leningrad region, and the Novgorod region. This makes SPIBA the leading representative for the international business community in St. Petersburg and the north-western region of Russia.
