In October 2010 SPIBA announced the competition “The best project of social responsibility and corporate philanthropy”

According to several recieved requests we decided to put 6 of the most impressive companies involved in corporate philanthropy and social responsibility. 
We would be glad if you could help us decide on awarding the top 3 companies which participated in the contest by sending us an email to office@spiba.ru naming 3 companies, which in your opinion are the most socially responsible. THANK YOU!

1. Joint action of Statoil Energy & Retail Russia and the St. Petersburg branch of the Red Cross:

Knights' celebration on Oct. 16: Statoil Energy Company& Retail Russia and the Red Cross in St. Petersburg organized a festival in the style of the Middle Ages for children from disadvantaged and low income families. The event was held on the premises of St. Petersburg Research Center of Social Assistance to Families and Children of the Vyborg district on 2 Murinsky Prospect, 19.
The celebration was attended by approximately 30 preschool children and their parents.
Children received a variety of gifts: sets for creativity, bought with the money that was collected in the coin boxes at petrol stations Statoil and reflectors Statoil, as well as the magic cloak, sewn by volunteer Dasha Buslovoy.
Volunteers who attended the festival were employees from the Statoil office and from the gas stations' staff.

2. Capital Legal Services has run a Charity Committe  charity for several years, its members form the company's policy with regard to issues of social responsibility. Decisions concerning participation in charitable and sponsorship programs to assist children, development of sports and nature conservation are being made at their general meetings.

For six years Capital Legal Services has sponsored the St. Petersburg charitable public organization "Center" Perspective " and " Golden Pelican ". Since 2007, the CLS began to cooperate with the Karate Federation of Russia. In 2008, CLS became a member of the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). The Company was awarded "Hranitely Zemli".  In January 2008 the company began working to help the children's social orphanage "Zhizn", located in St. Petersburg. In anticipation of the new year (2010), when everyone will give each other gifts, the CLS took part in the charity event "World Wildlife Fund» (WWF). WWF stated that its range of Christmas gifts were not only nice to buy, but also beneficial to the environment. All the funds collected from the charity sale went to support the WWF conservation of Amur tiger!

3. Fazer Group and Children's Villages - SOS began cooperating in Finland, Sweden and Russia since 2008. With affiliate programs, Fazer wants to support the activities of the organization of Children's Villages and to create the conditions for familes and long-term education of their children. The family-owned company Fazer traditionally cares about the welfare of the local community. Fazer believes that the family is an important resource in human development. Therefore, cooperation with the organization Children's Villages - SOS is fully consistent with the values of Fazer.
During this period, Fazer successfully implemented a charity project to support and development of orphans and children left without parents, who live and are educated in the Children's Villages - SOS Pushkin.
Options for cooperation and support in 2010 include the allocation of funds for the maintenance and upbringing of orphans under the cooperation agreement, attracting media attention to programs and projects of the Children's Villages - SOS , dissemination of information about the "Children's Villages – SOS” among its customers, partners and staff, providing gifts for children, creation of corporate New Year's cards for the children's Village - SOS Pushkin, and visits to the Children's Village SOS Children Pushkin for activities under the sponsorship of affiliate programs. In addition, certain projects had been created including,  "a meat house" - SOS- where children participated in cultural and educational project of the Detissimo, Central Museum of Communications, ASPopova "Detissimo, visititation of activities of the Third International Festival" of Flying Children "(Upsala Circus), participation in master-classes in the art studio of the State Hermitage Museum, and they also participated in the ceremony" Day of Maecenas" in the State Hermitage Museum.

4. Mannheimer Swartling Company has become one of the organizers of the event:
Dec. 2, a charity evening entitled "Celebration as a gift", which collected 517,790 rubles for the program "warm houses".
The evening had a performance entitled, "Igra Pyaterih", which starred five brave people, who never went on stage before.
Each participant had made a charitable donation of 50 thousand rubles to "warm house" and had the opportunity, together with professional actors from the theater "Wandering Dolls Mr. PEZHO" to go all the way in creating the play - from script to rehearsal. On the theatrical platform, participants presented five bright images, each of which was an allusion to the real nature of the actor. Guests of the evening became friends with actors, members of diplomatic missions of foreign states, Trustees of "Teply Dom", the representatives of the St. Petersburg business and artistic establishment, and journalists. Also in the evening they held a charity raffle, where amazing prizes were won.

5. Public organization "Reconstruction of St. Petersburg gardens and parks" was established in 2010, with the combined efforts of concerned members of the public and business community of the city. The idea of creation belongs to the Honored Artist of Russia Galina Bokashevskaya, who has brought together like-minded people who care about the fate of the city and its traditions. Supporting this initiative by Galina Bokashevskaya are several well-known businessmen in St. Petersburg and the founders of an NGO. Among them:
Edward Tiktinsky, president of the Holding Company RBI;
Denis Kotov, Managing Director of book chain "Bookvoed";
Mickhail Lyasko, CEO of Artis Group.

The goal of this social organization is the reconstruction of St. Petersburg gardens and parks. 
Objects of reconstruction are not only well-known historical and cultural landcsapes but also local ordinary urban parks located within neighborhoods, close to houses.
  
Among the tasks of this social organization is the reconstruction of the overall appearance of St.Petersburg's squares and parks as well as the formation of a new standard of the urban environment. Residents of homes often want to improve their yard and local area, but do not know the governemnetal regulations required for this reconstruction. They create a culture of caring for the common places of rest and walking amongst its citizens while reinforcing its knowledge of the legal aspects.

6. Unilever,  an Anglo-Dutch company is an international company with long traditions and principles. The most important one is corporate social responsibility to consumers, citizens and society. Unilever develops and implements special programs; sponsoring cultural and socially significant national and international events, supporting charitable activities in various cities of Russia, Ukraine and Belarus. The goal of the company is not only to generate profits for shareholders, but the development of society in general and assisting in finding solutions to global problems as well. 
Currently Unilever has several production sites in Russia including a margarine factory in Moscow, a tea-packing and cosmetic factories in St. Petersburg, food factories for the production of ice cream in Tula, and factories for the production of ice cream in Novosibirsk and Omsk . The total amount of this company's investment  in the Russian economy is more than 1 billion euros. The number of employees is approximately 7000 people.
